I am interested in how the process and language of abstraction, in particular abstract painting, can continue to yield new experiences and ways of relating to others and the world around us. Using process and material as the content, the formal decisions within my work serve as articulations of an imperfect but honest dance of deliberation and indecision. In general, my work stands as a response to that space in the quotidian realm of uncertainty, ambiguity, awkwardness, spontaneity, ugliness, and beauty where nothing and everything is at stake.
